WEEK 22(Jan.21-24)
Bonjour,
We celebrated 100 days of school on Thursday and it was fun to see the kids dressed as grown people 🙂
This week we start working on shadows using flashlights in the classroom as the weather didn’t permit us to go outside. We did some experiments using flashlights. We will start our shadow journal next week by going outside and drawing our shadow at different time of the day to see the changes. In Math, we are still working on halves and fourths. We introduced measuring using a unit (unifix cubes, eraser, paper clip…) instead of a ruler and start working on telling time (full hours). We will continue working on this next week.
La galette des roi
On January 21st, to celebrate a French tradition, the students will enjoy a slice of galette in class. This in-school, student-only event will allow them to discover more about the French culture and how students their age celebrate La galette des rois in France.
The students will be able to choose between almond paste galette or apple galette.
If your child is allergic to ingredients traditionally found in cakes (flour, eggs, milk) or nuts, please let me know asap so we can find an alternative snack for your child.
We are looking for donations of paper plates for this event. If you can help, please send a bag of paper plates with your child.

Bonus will be accorded if they add rivers, use 3D shapes and bring elements from home to help with the landforms deco (sand for deserts for example). If some parents can provide play dough, that will be great!
